WHAT IS THE EUROPÄISCHES ÜBERSETZER-KOLLEGIUM?

The Europäisches Übersetzer-Kollegium in Straelen is worldwide the first and largest international centre for translators of literature and non-fiction.

You can neither learn to translate in Straelen, nor have something translated. Here you can "only translate" - but under ideal conditions: Translators from around the world come to Straelen with a translating contract from a publisher to use the diverse aids of the centre, to meet colleagues, to collaborate and to exchange tips and experiences.

The Europäisches Übersetzer-Kollegium does not act as agent for translating jobs, because all guests bring their own work - a translation commissioned by a publisher - along.
